A beautiful shrub or small tree. I have a double hedge of these and they’re spectacular, plus great for cutting. The blossom arrives in late March or early April, with the deep russet foliage following on. If it doesn’t all get snipped, there are delicious berries in the summer. This plant is called Serviceberry in Canada and is well known for jam making.
Sow the seeds immediately and allow them to overwinter in a pot. They should germinate in Spring.
