One of the stalworts of Mill Pond Flower Farm. This is a perennial poppy that will happily bloom away for 6 months in a sheltered spot. A proper orange, frilly bloom is held on slim grey/green stems. If cut in bud, the flowers unfurl gently in a vase or bouquet. The stems do need to be seared (30 seconds in boiling water).
Sow the seeds when you get them and they should germinate before the winter. Otherwise sow in early spring with a little warmth, then grow on in an unheated space. They usually flower in year 1.
