Sweet Rocket (Hesperis) White and Lilac mix
Sweet rocket is a really beautiful, long lasting, scented flower. It’s often described as a biennial, but really behaves as a short lived perennial. It will last 2-3 seasons, so needs to be sown every year for a continuous supply of white through to lilac blooms, just at the time when you begin to wonder if you’ve run out of flowers in late Spring. It fills the floral ‘hungry gap’ in May, between spring bulbs and summer abundance. It’s one of the flowers that will continue to be sown here. long after the flower farm gate has closed. I love its almost luminous flowers that catch my eye from a distance.
Sow in late summer/early autumn and plant out once the plants have grown on a bit. It’s very hardy, but will look a bit scruffy and pathetic until it suddenly takes off in late April/early May.
Height 80cm
Spread 40cm
Quantity 0.6g/100 seeds
